Disable UPnP in Modem Settings.

Don't enable option for Remote Administration via Internet.

Turn off Modems while not in use.

Enable Wireless security in Modem Wireless configuration.Use a proper protection Key for Home wireless network.

Change Default SSID in Modem Wireless settings.

Download Bot Removal Tool from www.cyberswachhtakendra.gov.in and run at regular intervals .

Install and maintain updated anti-virus and anti-malware software on your system.

Scan computer with updated anti-virus regularly.

Use genuine software only.

Keep up-to-date patches and fixes on the operating system and application software.

Exercise caution while opening unknown email attachments.
